Thurs. Aug. 9th 7:30 AM - Berkeley Communicators Toastmasters Club

"We will be meeting on the 9th of August, Nagasaki Day, in the back room of
Au Coquelet on the corner of Milvia and University. The Gavel will come
down at 730 AM.

Going by the book... As Toastmaster, Michael Evans has been calling around
filling roles.

Because of some members being on vacation, I am multitasking, so, in
addition to speaking I will be introducing Table Topics... To give all a
heads up, here is the Harpers Review for the week:
http://harpers.org/archive/2007/08/WeeklyReview2007-08-07

As Table Topics Presenter, I ask you look at the review and choose one topic
you want to address for the allotted 1 - 2&1/2 minutes. If you have not
selected one, be prepared to address one of the more absurd news bullets
found on the list. Don't think about addressing "3 percent of Americans
approved of how
Congress<http://harpers.org/subjects/Congress/SubjectOf/Event>was
handling the war, which was costing the United
States <http://harpers.org/subjects/UnitedStates/SubjectOf/Event> and Great
Britain <http://harpers.org/subjects/Britain/SubjectOf/Event> more than
$4,000 each second.2<http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/have-you-been-to-iraq--76-sens.-say-they-have-2007-08-01.html>

4<http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=472524&in_page_id=1770>"
Just think about between $240,000 and $600,000 being spent while you
have
addressed a topic.

Larry Perry is scheduled to speak.
