Yar! Come join us ye landlubbers as we do explore the swashbuckling
world of piracy, both olde and new!

Professor Jameson will give an illustrated talk that includes a short
review of historical piracy in the ancient, medieval, and early modern
periods. He will then discuss the change from historical piracy to
the piracy of literature and contemporary piracy in the two principal
regions—the Strait of Malacca and the Indian Ocean coast of Somalia
(scene of the recent pirate attack on a cruise ship).
