[KSG Ben Mangan's] EARN Asset Services Assistant

Organizational Summary:

The Earned Assets Resource Network, Inc. (EARN) is a
nationally recognized, award winning nonprofit
organization that provides direct service to four Bay
Area Counties, and conducts statewide policy advocacy.

EARN expands low and moderate income people’s access
to wealth through the use of matched savings accounts
(including Individual Development Accounts, or IDAs),
money management training, and connections to the
financial mainstream. Matched savings can be used for
high-return investments such as education,
homeownership, and micro-enterprise development. EARN
has helped nearly 1,000 local working poor families to
save over $2.5 million toward homeownership, small
business start up and post secondary training.

EARN has been awarded the Fast Company Social
Capitalist of the Year Award, and was named one of the
ten inaugural finalists in the Amazon.com Nonprofit

Position Description:

EARN seeks a bi-lingual (in Spanish) Asset Services
Assistant to join our team to focus on two key areas:

1) Coordinate personal money management training
for low income San Francisco residents, and;

2) Coordinate EARN’s growing Alumni Association.
EARN Alumni are Savers who have used one our matched
savings accounts to invest in an asset.

The Asset Services Coordinator’s duties will include
but are not limited to:

Financial Management Training Coordination:

1) Create and maintain inventory of available
personal money management training resources available
to low income San Franciscans;

2) Make assessments of the quality of financial
management training available;

3) Make recommendations on how to improve quality
of available training;

4) Cultivate and deepen relationships with
nonprofits, financial institutions and government
agencies in San Francisco that offer financial
training;

5) Cultivate and deepen relationships with local
community based organizations and government agencies
with clients in need of financial training;

6) Facilitate community outreach to meaningful
connections between financial training resources and
need within the community

7) Field incoming phone calls and return
inquiries regarding training

8) Maintain web listings of financial training

9) Provide financial management training on
occasion

10) Provide general organizational support to EARN

Alumni Association Coordination:

1) Help develop and implement policies and
structures to strengthen the Alumni Association;

2) Conduct outreach to alums to increase
participation of Savers in Alumni Association;

3) Coordinate opportunities for additional
savings and training for Alumni;

4) Work with Alumni Leaders to determine future
direction and activities for Alumni Association.

EARN is seeking a candidate with the following skills
and experience:

- Teaching or public speaking experience strongly
desired

- Experience in the development and/or provision of
financial training for low income people

- Native Spanish speaker

- Ability to work independently, and in a fast paced,
often changing environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Outstanding relationship-building skills

- Strong organizational and coordination and office
support skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word,
Excel, Access)

- Enjoys working as part of a team

- B.A. degree or at least 5 years’ experience

- Flexible work hours
