Historical Gathering of Black Harvard/Yale Alums

"Hi Perry,

This morning at 10:00 o'clock in Memorial Church at
the funeral of Marilyn Carrington Ed.M. '76 there was
a historic gathering of African American alumni of
Harvard and Yale.

Seventy-five percent of the African American members
of the Harvard College Class of 1952 were in
attendance (3 out of 4):

Walter C. Carrington '52, LLB '55 James M. Harkless
'52, LLB '55 (First black president of the Harvard
Glee Club) William M. Simmons '52, LLB '60 (First
black president of the Harvard Crimson)

Fifty percent of the African American members of the
Yale College Class of 1952 was in attendance (1 out of
2)

Enoch O'D. Woodhouse II (father of Enoch O'D.
Woodhouse III '08)
