Two powerful comedy headliners talk about politics, race, legs, squirrels and a whole lot more. Join the fun for an evening of laughter with Betsy Salkind and Aundre the Wonderwoman, joined by special musical guest Kitty Rose.

BETSY SALKIND The Boston Globe says, "There are countless ways to make someone laugh, and Betsy Salkind knows most of them. Want sarcastic wit? Political humor? Or maybe just a good animal mime? Salkind can pull all that off and more." Betsy Salkind was a writer for "Saturday Night Special" and "Roseanne," wrote and starred in the critically-acclaimed "Anne Frank Superstar," and has appeared as a stand-up on numerous TV shows including

"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Best known for her squirrel impression, she refuses to be pigeonholed as a rodent. In addition to touring, the LA based comedian now writes for "Ethel's Law" (ethelspiliotes.blogspot.com).

AUNDR the WONDERWOMAN -- An Unforgettable Satirist--When Kings of Comedy star Steve Harvey first introduced Aundr the Wonderwoman to the comedy world, he described her as a "new comic with a funny way of saying things." An engaging and clever satirist, Aundr has been described as "The Queen of Nothing Sacred" and takes on everything from animal lovers to presidential politics. Aundr the Wonderwoman is an unforgettable performer, telling the truth in a funny way.

Between running a ranch in the small rural community of Hopland, California, riding her horses, herding cattle and other ranch chores, KITTY ROSE writes, sings, and performs some of the hottest classic country music you'll ever hear. Her "Greatest Hits!" CD is garnering raves from Americana and press around the country! She won the Outmusic award for Best Debut Female Artist in 2005, has performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe and Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville where Patsy and Hank used to hang between Grand Ol?Opry shows, and will release her new CD "Kitty Rose Live at the Ryman" this month!

New York Academy of Sciences: "Medical Apartheid" Feb. 15th 2007 [Harvard School of Public Health Fellow]

"Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black
Americans from Colonial Times to the Present
Speaker: Harriet A. Washington, author

Medical Apartheid is the first and only comprehensive history of the
medical experimentation on African Americans. Starting with the
earliest encounters between Africans and Western medical researchers
and the racist pseudoscience that resulted, it details the way both
slaves and freedmen were used in hospitals for experiments conducted
without a hint of informed consent a tradition that continues today
within some black populations.

It shows how blacks have historically been prey to grave-robbing as well
as unauthorized autopsies and dissections. Moving into the 20th century,
it shows how the pseudoscience of eugenics and social Darwinism was used
to justify experimental exploitation and shoddy medical treatment of
blacks and a view that they were biologically inferior, oversexed, and
unfit for adult responsibilities.

Shocking new details about the government's Tuskegee experiment are
revealed, as are similar, less well-known medical atrocities conducted
by the government, the armed forces, and private institutions. Medical
Apartheid reveals the hidden underbelly of scientific research and
makes possible, for the first time, an understanding of the roots of
the African American health deficit.
