Fun Read "Pig" Model of Executive Compensation [M. Schwartz, Harvard Social Relations 10 Class Notes 1966]

Check Michael Schwartz’s class notes for an analysis ostensibly from the cited course of the pig (versus hero) model of executive compensation and how it relates to social networks of influence and authority, page 57 of 83. Pay may not be about worth necessarily. Under this assumption pay may be an important tool used to delineate who is who in private companies.

We don’t use designations such as earl or baron to determine salary, page 19. Salary has become a designation itself that determines salary and the caste system. This may or may not be true. It is entertaining to consider.

This is a special promotion that will benefit San Francisco-based nonprofit EARN (www.sfearn.org), which uses microfinance products and services to help low wage families build assets that help them break the cycle of poverty. 10% of all purchases on Thursday night will go to EARN – and 100% of this will match the savings of local families to invest in homes, post-secondary education and microenterprise development.

Location: 610 Mason Street (in the Presidio adjacent to Crissy Field), San Francisco, 415-437-0100

Drinks and snacks will be generously provided by JP Morgan Chase. So that we can plan hospitality appropriately, please RSVP to Roxanne.L.Miner@JPMCHASE.com or 415-315-7754.

Please come out for a fun evening of holiday cheer, great discounts on sporting goods, and help for an important local nonprofit!

All the Best,
